Parish Committees

Finance Committee
This Committee is composed of the Clergy staff of St. Martin’s and eight laypersons appointed by the Pastor and includes the two Trustees. Its function is to assist the Pastor in all things monetary and to oversee the financial concerns of the Parish. The Committee Chairperson is John McCarthy.

Meetings are held as often as deemed necessary (usually monthly) to discuss any issues that might affect the financial status of any assets of the Church. These could be matters concerning Parish staff, property, buildings or ministries and activities.

In addition, the annual budget is prepared in this Committee where it is submitted to the Diocese. Periodically at the Committee meetings, we review the actual income and expenses compared to projections. This action enables the Committee to practice sound financial management of the church’s finances.

Garden Committee
This committee works to maintain and improve the beauty of the church grounds. Its members plan, plant, and maintain the gardens around the church and rectory, including perennial plantings for long-term landscaping. New members are always welcome.

“My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather lilies.”
– Song of Solomon 6:2

Hospitality Committee
The Hospitality Ministry is central to our parish life at St. Martin of Tours. We are a behind the scenes group that provides logistical support and party planning for events hosted by the pastor or other ministries. We are a small group of volunteers dedicated to making any parish celebration a success. The Hospitality Ministry works toward creating a sense of community in the parish.

“Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us exercise them: If prophecy, in proportion to the faith; if ministry, in ministering; if one is a teacher, in teaching; if one exhorts, in exhortation; if one contributes, in generosity; if one is over others, with diligence; if one does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.” – Romans 12:6-8

Liturgy Committee
The Liturgy Committee works in consultation with the Pastoral Staff in the preparation and celebration of the liturgical seasons and the sacraments.

Parish Council
This is an advisory council to the Pastor of St. Martin of Tours Parish, who represents the needs, ideas and hopes of the Parish community, supports Parish ministries, evaluates the quality of Parish commissions and programs, and plans for the Parish’s future by recommending ways to further fulfill the Church’s mission.
